LALS Visiting Scholar Applications for 2020-2021 are open!

Applications for the Latin Americand Latino Studies Visiting Scholar Program for 2020-2021 are due on March 15, 2020.

The LALS Visiting Scholar position offers faculty, experts, and researchers (including advanced graduate students) in the field of Latin America and Latino Studies an opportunity to advance their research through interactions with faculty and students at the University of Pennsylvania and by having access to the university’s libraries and various resources.  Visiting Scholars are offered a space to work and are invited to participate in various programming, including our colloquium series and events sponsored by the university-wide Penn in Latin America and Caribbean (PLAC) committee and other organizations on campus.  It is a great opportunity for scholars who can secure external funding to focus on research while interacting with a growing and interdisciplinary group of LALS scholars. They will have an opportunity to present their research at one of our internal speaker series (LALSIS).

For more detailed information about the program, please read this LALS visiting scholar overview.

If you are interested in becoming a Visiting Scholar with LALS, please carefully review the visiting scholar application here and reach out to LALS Associate Director, Dr. Catherine Bartch, with any questions (lals@sas.upenn.edu).
